Untuk memvisualisasikan keindahan Gunung batur maka pemerintah pusat bekerja sama dengan pemerintah Provinsi Bali dan pemerintah Kabupaten Bangli sepakat mewujudkan pembangunan museum Gunung Api Batur. Adapun lokasi dari museum ini yaitu di areal parkir daya tarik wisata Penelokan, atau sekitar 20km sebelah utara Kota Bangli. Museum ini menampilkan pegetahuan alam Batur Geopark, maupun geopark – geopark yang berada diseluruh dunia. Tidak hanya geopark, namun juga terdapat peninggalan sejarah masyarakat Bali kuno.
To visualize the beauty of Gunung Batur, the central government agree to collaborate with the provincial government of Bali and the Bangli Regency government and constructs Batur Volcano museum. The location of this museum is in the parking area of Penelokan tourist attraction, or about 20km north of Bangli City. This museum displays the natural knowledge of Batur Geopark, as well as others geopark located throughout the world. Not only geopark, but also there are historical relics of ancient Balinese people.

Beautiful place. You will be hassled about getting a guide on your way down there. Get the guide, the trek up is unmarked and difficult. A guide will make it a lot easier. Plus, the guide will tell you about the mountain and be very helpful.
